The Collins FAQs

The Collins wants to ensure your frequently asked questions are answered.

-What is your pet policy?

We allow 2 pets per apartment with no weight restrictions. Though we are a pet-friendly community, dog breeds and any mixes thereof that are prohibited are Rottweiler, Doberman, German Shepherd, Chow, Pitbull, American Staffordshire, Bull Terrier, American and Pitbull Terrier. Please note: There is a one-time pet fee of $350 and a monthly pet rent of $15 per pet.


-What is the rent payment policy?

Rent payments are due on the 1st day of each month. Any payment made after the 5th day of the month will incur a late charge. 


Can the application process be done online?

Of course. The application process can be done through the Residences tab on the Home page. Simply click on your favorite floor plan and apply now. 


-Do you require renter’s insurance? Can I use my provider?

Yes. All residents must provide a current valid renters insurance policy. All Renters Insurance Policies must include a minimum of $100,000 Limited Liability per policy.  Coverage may be with a provider of your choice.


-How do I submit a maintenance or service request?

The best way is to log in to your resident portal and submit a request online here: However, you can also call our office at 256-333-4975 and speak to our on-site office team or leave a message if it is after-hours.


-When/How should I set up my utilities?

You should set up your utilities by contacting Huntsville Utilities at least two weeks before your move-in day.


-Are Short Term Lease Options and/or Short Term Premiums available?

We offer lease terms from 6-14 months. Please note: Leases under 11 months will incur a short term premium of $400.00 per month. 


-What is the parking policy?

We offer open parking spaces with no fees.


-Amenities open and hours?

Yes. Amenities are open between the hours below:

Pool Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Fitness Center: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Resident Lounge: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Beer Garden: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Fire Pit: 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.


-What are the perks of being a resident at The Collins?

We are located in the heart of Research Park, close to Downtown, and various shopping, dining, and entertainment. Additionally, we offer monthly resident events.
